Ability Scores and Other Characteristics

Intelligence (INT)

Intelligence is a key factor in a character's ability to learn and use skills. If you have a lower intelligence, it means that you will not be very effective at using skills you have learnt. Therefore, your skills will work better for you in combat if you have a higher Intelligence.
Sense (SEN)
Sense measures a character's physical attributes and reaction speed. You will get bonuses when using weapons or when you are avoiding an opponent's attack if you have a higher Sense rating. The mobility and agility of any aircraft are improved with each higher level of Sense. Your sense should be maximized to increase your planes’ turning ability or ability to avoid heavy damage.

    See Sense Apply Table.

Stamina (STA)
Stamina measures the fitness, health and physical endurance of your character. A high score in this area boosts the total number of fatigue points your character receives, recovery time in hospital if you wounded, and your character can fly for a longer amount of time if you have more fatigue points. This aspect of a character is important if you intend on flying for long hours in the game, if not, then Stamina is not as important as Intelligence and Sense. However, do not assume that the game will always be this way. Changes could be made so that Stamina would become more important in the short term, so be aware of the current game environment and judge your need for Stamina based on that.

    See Stamina Apply Table.

Fatigue
Fatigue measures the duration a pilot can fly without resting, therefore lower values are better. If Fatigue reaches maximum, a character cannot fly his or her aircraft. Whenever a pilot is not flying, Fatigue is decreased by 1 unit for each minute the pilot remains on the ground. When a pilot is flying, Fatigue is increased by 3 every 10 minutes. Currently, the game allows you to fly for long periods of time without you having to rest in-between. However, this may vary from game server to game server so be aware of each server’s condition as some may require more Stamina than others, so you should be careful.
Experience (EXP)
Experience points are the concrete measurement of a character's progress in the game. Killing foes, completing assignments all lead to increased experience points and, eventually, there will be an increase in a character's Grade or Rank.
Rank (level)
Grade measures how advanced a character is as a pilot, and is raised automatically whenever a character gains enough experience points. When a character rises in experience level, his or her amount of pay increases and his or her fighting ability improves as well.

To find out how many experience points a character needs to achieve a certain rank, refer to the table below.

    Experience, Grade and Payment Table

Sortie Min.
A pilot is expected to fly at least once every 24 hours in order to receive their hourly pay from the wing. The pay is determined on your rank at the time of the payment.

The game parameters often change, so your pilot log is the right place to check. Also, if you still feel that something is amiss, please double check with other pilots first before reporting bugs in the game. More often than not, the changes are made and it is either we have yet to update the manual or you have not read about the updates.

Payment

A Pilot's income is calculated by a fixed payment and mission/incentive bonuses. All pilots will receive their fixed payment every hour from the wing if they have completed a sortie within a 24-hour period. Pilots who are part of a wing may have to pay a Wing Tax that is set by their FO or CO. Pilots who are no longer in a wing do not get paid. The Mission or Bounty bonuses are paid upon successful completion of military missions (bombing a building, etc), additionally the accumulation of bounty over 24 hours will result in a bonus incentive payment (Average Bounty Reward).

The hourly payment depends on pilots' rank and their average Bounty Bonus of past 24 hours.

    • If a pilot did not log a sortie for the past 24 hours, or is not part of a wing, the pilot will receive no hourly payment.
    • If a pilot is active in destroying other wing's structures, defensive structures or computer planes, the pilot will receive an incentive (based on average bounty reward).
    • An hourly payment cannot exceed the amount of (minimum payment x gameserver dependent fixed variable up to 10)
    • Additional fixed rate bonus payments, for example when in command of a wing.

Formula: Example Hourly Payment = ( Base Payment of Rank + Bounty ( ABR x 10 ) ) x Bank Skill Bonus + Wing Commander Bonus

    Glossary

    • ABR: Average Bounty Reward. An average amount of Bounty Reward of the past 24 hours.
    • Bounty Reward: The credits a pilot receives if the pilot destroys enemy wing structures, defensive structures and computer planes.

A box will appear with all the icons depicting the skills you may learn (choose). To pick a new skill, click on its icon but choose wisely as you cannot change that skill once it has been picked.

Pilot Log

All your important activities are recorded automatically to your Pilot Log.

  • Sorties
Indicates the number of times you have flown your aircraft from your base. Sorties in your own airspace also are counted towards this total.

  • Enemy Pilots Killed
Indicates the number of enemy airplanes (number of player controlled pilots) you have shot down.

  • AI Pilots Killed
Indicates the number of enemy AI planes (number of AI controlled pilots) you have shot down.

  • Computer Planes Killed
Indicates the number of computer planes (number of defensive air targets) you have shot down.

  • Structures Destroyed
Indicates the number of enemy ground targets destroyed.

  • Wings Destroyed
Indicates the number of wings you have destroyed. This is an important factor for you as a pilot. The number of wings destroyed will be factored into your Top Bomber Crew and Overall Pilot Ratings.

  • Times Shot Down
Indicates the number of times you have been shot down by enemy or friendly fire. This factor will reduce your standing on all ratings boards. The fewer times you have been shot down, the better. This is obviously one of the most important factors for getting the Top Fighter Pilot ratings and is not important at all in Top Fighter Ace as Times Shot Down are not calculated in that rating.
